Katherine is interested in how the perception of a place is created. A place is a collection of human experiences in a location. It is full of history but challenged by contradictory memories. There are both broad areas and tiny points that become places, real or imagined.
As an art major exploring various mediums, Janet Rodriguez was immediately drawn to clay and its tactile nature. The ability to transform clay into various shapes and forms by hand, sometimes using the potters wheel, intrigued her.
Scobie grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, and moved to Denton, Texas, with her four children in 1982 to teach American history in the Department of History and Government at Texas Woman’s University.
Shelley is an up and coming Artist in the DFW area. She loves to use all different types of mediums and is currently working on a new media mosaic with glitch, several sound peices as well as a multimedia sculpture.
